What is Valkara?
Valkara is a dark-fantasy habit tracker RPG for Android and iOS. Every habit you keep earns XP for a living character with seven attributes — strength, health, intelligence, zen, charisma, wealth and more. Skip your habits and your character decays. Your discipline is the game.
How is Valkara different from other habit trackers?
Ordinary habit apps are checklists with streaks. Valkara is a full RPG built on your real life: 90-day shadow programs that eliminate destructive habits, training sessions with personal records, biological age calculated from your smartwatch data, XP decay when you go idle, and a warrior tribe watching your progress. It rewards momentum and refuses to forgive neglect.
Is Valkara free?
The habit tracker core is free forever — habits, character progression, shadow programs for bad habits, training-habit logging and body-signal context. Only the social layer (guilds, leaderboards, community challenges) is a paid subscription. During the beta everything is free with no card and no trial countdown; early adopters who register before 21.12.2026 hold three free months of future social access plus the founding price locked for life.
What are Shadow Programs?
Shadow programs are 90-day elimination campaigns against a single destructive habit — doomscrolling, alcohol, junk food, pornography and other archetypes. They include a failure-and-redemption mechanism and emergency sessions for the moment you are about to break. Most trackers build good habits; shadow programs are built to kill bad ones.
Does Valkara work with my smartwatch?
Yes. Valkara reads Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android): heart rate, HRV, VO2 Max, sleep, steps and training-session signals. From that it estimates your biological age and recovery as body-signal context inside the habit tracker — your body becomes part of your character sheet. Health data stays on your device.
Can Valkara help me quit doomscrolling, alcohol or other bad habits?
That is exactly what shadow programs are for. Pick the destructive habit — doomscrolling, alcohol, junk food, pornography, nicotine and more — and Valkara runs a 90-day elimination campaign against it: daily check-ins, a failure-and-redemption mechanism instead of broken-streak shame, and emergency sessions for the moment of temptation. Quitting a bad habit is a boss fight, and the app treats it like one. How negative habit tracking works →
Can Valkara track a gym habit inside my habit tracker?
Yes — training is a habit category inside the broader habit tracker, not a separate fitness product. Log training sessions and personal records, track calories burned by MET, follow your weight, and watch smartwatch vitals (heart rate, HRV, VO2 Max) translate into biological age. Every completed training habit feeds XP into your character, so the gym habit and the habit tracker reinforce each other. How to choose a habit tracker with body-signal context →
Can Valkara track recurring routines, not just one-off tasks?
Yes. Valkara covers daily, weekly and monthly routines, RPG consequences, gym habits and negative-habit campaigns in one system. It is not a project-management app for one-off tasks; it is a habit tracker for actions you want to repeat until they become part of you. How to choose the best habit tracker →
Does Valkara work offline and without an account?
Yes. Valkara is local-first: the whole habit tracker runs on your phone in an on-device database, and onboarding offers “Continue without account”, so you can build habits, run shadow programs and log training without ever registering or connecting to the internet. An account is only needed for the social layer — guilds, leaderboards and community challenges — and for restoring your saga on a new phone.
Where is my health data stored?
On your device. Health and fitness data from Apple Health or Google Health Connect is processed and stored locally and is never uploaded to our servers — it is used to calculate biological age, recovery and your in-app attributes. If you use the optional social layer, only game stats such as level and XP can appear on a leaderboard, never your raw health metrics.
Who is Valkara not for?
If you want a quiet, minimal checklist, Valkara is the wrong tool — it is deliberately loud: a dark-fantasy character, XP, decay when you go idle. If you want a shared habit list with a partner or a team, that is not what the social layer does; guilds, leaderboards and challenges sit alongside your own habits rather than merging them with someone else's. And if you are on iPhone today, the Android beta is the only build you can install right now — the TestFlight beta comes with the 21 December 2026 launch. Valkara is built for one person who wants stakes: someone rebuilding after a destructive habit, who found ticking boxes was not enough.
When does Valkara launch?
The beta build is live now — you can download the Android APK directly from this page and iOS TestFlight is coming. The official App Store and Google Play launch is on 21.12.2026.
